Industrial sites and ports

On an alarm, the image decides, not a guess.

Large sites are guarded from one centre. When an alarm goes off the drone is on the spot within a minute and the operator decides whether to send a response. They need to know they see now.

Illustrative case study

A night patrol and an alarm at once

This is not a customer and not a flight that happened. It is a description of how this area would read if the image carried its age.

A site with halls, an illustration

At night a patrol flies between halls. A fence sensor launches a second drone. An operator in another city must know which image belongs to which sensor.

Metal and halls break the signal over a short stretch. In the example that stretch jumps over the target. The alarm stays open until there is a valid image or a patrol.

In the morning the report shows stretches where the image repeatedly lost freshness. It is not an insurance claim.

Patrol

It continues. It has its own record.

Alarm

Its own age, its own pack.

Decision

Only from Valid.

Night lights depend on the drone. AKIZU has not verified them.

Image age through the example

The chart requires JavaScript.

The chart is a simulation. Move the slowdown and see when the example stops being under the 50 ms target. The target is not a measured result.

Deployment schematic

Where everything stands and how the image travels

The schematic is not to scale and is not a design for a specific site. It shows where the drone is, which two networks carry the frame and where the decision is made.

Numbers in the schematic

  1. 1A station on the site. Two drones.
  2. 2Between halls metal breaks the signal. Fence sensor S launches the second drone.
  3. 3Both networks for each drone separately.
  4. 4Platform holds the patrol and the alarm as two records.
  5. 5An operator in another city sees which image belongs to which sensor.
  6. 6The alarm stays open until there is a valid image.

Concrete case

Minute by minute

The same illustrative case as above, written out in time. The times are an example. It is not a record of a flight that happened.

  1. 22:00The night patrol launches. A route between halls.
  2. 23:41Sensor S on the fence. The second drone launches.
  3. 23:42The stretch by the hall jumps over the target. The alarm stays open.
  4. 23:43The image at the sensor is valid. The operator decides by their own procedure.
  5. 23:50The second drone returns. The patrol continued throughout.
  6. 06:00Morning report: stretches where the image repeatedly lost freshness.

Use options

Everything it can be used for in this area

Each row is a separate use. The Parts column says which AKIZU parts it would involve. Status N is a design, C is a target, U is unknown.

01

The problem today

01

Metal and halls disturb the signal

Cranes, containers and halls reflect the signal. The link fluctuates over short stretches.

02

The centre is far away

The image travels over the network to a monitoring centre, sometimes in another city. Delay is invisible.

03

Insurers and police want a record

After an incident you need to show what the operator saw, when and how old the image was.

04

Patrol and alarm at once

Two drones on the site. The operator must know which image belongs to which sensor.

The same situation, different information on the screen. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.

02

How it would work

  1. AlarmA site sensor triggers a flight from the station.
  2. TransitBrain sends the image over two networks. Direct shows the age of every frame.
  3. CheckThe operator controls the camera and the drone. The drone does not execute commands based on an old image.
  4. ReportPlatform stores the evidence pack with the alarm.
  5. Two flightsThe patrol continues; the alarm drone has its own age and its own pack.

The flow is illustrative. AKIZU is in development.

03

Mission scenario

How many metres further the drone is than the image shows. Pick a scenario or set the speed and image age.

The interactive calculation requires JavaScript.

Scenario speeds are examples. 87.4 ms is the p99 measured internally over WiFi with a phone as transmitter, not on a drone.

05

Who works with it

01

Monitoring operator

Knows whether they see the situation now and decides on the response.

02

Security manager

Has a record of every alarm for insurers and police.

03

Site operations

Sees the segments where coverage needs improving.

What we will measure in the pilot

  • Image age at alarm≤ 50 ms p99 C
  • Alarms with an evidence pack100 % C
  • Image outages on network switch0 C

06

What you get after every flight

  • Image age at every alarm
  • Time in Valid on patrol routes
  • Map of segments with reduced freshness
  • Evidence pack for the incident
  • Patrol and alarm kept apart in the record

Questions about this area

FAQ →

How does image age differ from latency?

Network latency is only part of the journey. Image age is the time from frame exposure on the drone to its display to the operator. VERA attaches the exposure time to every frame and the station verifies it before display.

Does it work without a mobile network?

The AKIZU design is built around LTE and 5G. According to the manufacturer, the Starling 2 Max base platform also supports Wi-Fi and Microhard. Our internal measurement was done over WiFi.

Can I have the image age on my drone measured?

We plan to offer AKIZU Verify measurement once optical measurement is validated. If you are interested, write to us and we will put you on the early list.

09

What the operator sees

The three image states in this area. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.

Valid

The operator can decide on a response.

Reduced freshness

They know the image is late and do not treat it as live.

Unavailable

The alarm stays open until there is a valid image or a patrol.

12

What we do not do in this area

Not a guard company

AKIZU does not send a response team.

Not site insurance

The pack is evidence, not a claim.

Night lights

Camera and lights depend on the drone. AKIZU has not verified them.

A pilot in this area

On an alarm, the image decides, not a guess.

We are looking for first partners. The application is pre-filled for this area.

In more detail

Before a meeting on a site

A patrol and an alarm are two records. They are not mixed.

Metal and halls break the signal over a short stretch. That stretch should be named before the flight, not inferred from an average.

The alarm stays open until there is a valid image or a patrol. It is not an insurance claim.

Bring to the meeting

  • Where the signal drops.
  • Who holds the alarm.
  • Whether the patrol flies at night, and with what light.

This is not

  • An insurance payout.
  • A guard service.
  • Verified night lights.
