Measurement
Verify shows how old the image is today.
Drone manufacturers
You have your own airframe and flight software. Developing image with proven age would take years. Brain brings it in one enclosure.
Needs: Integration into your own droneEvidence after the flight

Illustrative case study
This is not a customer and not a flight that happened. It is a description of how this area would read if the image carried its age.
An integration hall, an illustration
The maker has its own airframe. An image chain with age would take years to build. In the example they fit Brain, four screws, one connector.
Verify measures age before and after. The number goes into the file as a target until a further measurement confirms it. It is not a type certificate.
The maker's customer has several aircraft. The same chain is repeated. VERA licensing is planned for 2028. That is not a commitment for this year.
Verify shows how old the image is today.
A before-and-after report, not a promise on a datasheet.
A repeat measurement, not one good-looking flight.
Brain does not fly the aircraft. It adds the image chain.
The chart requires JavaScript.
The chart is a simulation. Move the slowdown and see when the example stops being under the 50 ms target. The target is not a measured result.
Deployment schematic
The schematic is not to scale and is not a design for a specific site. It shows where the drone is, which two networks carry the frame and where the decision is made.
Red and blue beacons: police, state, the military in training. Orange: everyone else. The blink is only on screen. Schematic, design. The list beside it explains the codes in the drawing. The beacon is a payload from another maker, not an AKIZU product.
Concrete case
The same illustrative case as above, written out in time. The times are an example. It is not a record of a flight that happened.
An illustration, not a deployment record. N
Use options
Each row is a separate use. The Parts column says which AKIZU parts it would involve. Status N is a design, C is a target, U is unknown.
| Use | Who uses it | What AKIZU supplies | Parts | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Integration into a new airframe | Drone maker | An image chain with age without in-house development | Brain, Direct | N |
| Measurement before sale | The maker and the customer | Verify: a before-and-after report | Brain | N |
| Two networks for a BVLOS variant | Maker | Brain Duo and a switch log | Brain, SIM | N |
| The customer's fleet | The maker's customer | The same panel for every aircraft | Platform, Direct | C |
| A VERA protocol licence | Maker | A plan for 2028, not an offer for this year | Brain | U |
None of these uses is deployed today. A row is not an offer and not an authorisation to fly.
01
Camera, encoding and network are three different worlds. Nobody measures total image age from light to light.
Without measuring image age it is hard to say how delayed the image is beyond line of sight.
A protocol that carries the exposure time and deadline of every frame is a development project of its own.
A number from one measurement is not enough if integration differs between drones.
The same situation, different information on the screen. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.
| Situation | Without AKIZU | With AKIZU |
|---|---|---|
| The image is late | The image looks live; the pilot does not know how old it is. | Frame age is on the screen and the state changes to Reduced freshness. N |
| Your own drone, your own software | Image-age measurement has to be built from scratch. | Brain and VERA as a module with a clear interface. N |
| You need to explain what happened | Video without exposure time and without commands. | Evidence package with image age, states and commands. N |
02
The flow is illustrative. AKIZU is in development.
03
How many metres further the drone is than the image shows. Pick a scenario or set the speed and image age.
The interactive calculation requires JavaScript.
Scenario speeds are examples. 87.4 ms is the p99 measured internally over WiFi with a phone as transmitter, not on a drone.

| Requirement | How AKIZU answers it | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Total image age of your drone | AKIZU Verify measurement from light to light | P |
| Simple integration | Brain with one connector and four screws | N |
| Flight computer | ModalAI VOXL 2 inside the Brain unit | M |
| Protocol licence | VERA licensing for manufacturers planned for 2028 | P |

Gets a ready video chain and an interface for the flight software.
Has an image-age number for the datasheet and customers.
Can show the measured difference before and after integration.

Brain uses the ModalAI VOXL 2 flight computer, common in development drones.

Licensing of the VERA protocol to manufacturers is planned for 2028.
Optically: an instrument records a light signal in front of the drone camera and the same signal on the operator display. The difference is the real image age. We plan this measurement for Q4 2026.
No. VERA is AKIZU’s own protocol. We share the detailed protocol plan with partners on request.
We plan to offer AKIZU Verify measurement once optical measurement is validated. If you are interested, write to us and we will put you on the early list.
09
The three image states in this area. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.
After integration the maker has a number for the datasheet as a target, not as a finished result, until Verify confirms it.
The maker's customer sees that the image is still coming, but the deadline is close.
The customer's cockpit does not show a frozen image as live.

Illustrative layout. Drone and station counts are an example, not an offer.
Your line
Brain on one aircraft, measurement before and after.
Their operation
The same chain on further aircraft. VERA licensing is planned for 2028.
On board
One interface. You do not build image age from scratch.
11
Times are an example. They show when image age decides.
12
Brain does not fly the aircraft. It adds the video chain.
A measurement is not a type certificate.
The flight computer in the Brain design. Stated by the maker, not our flight result.
A pilot in this area
We are looking for first partners. The application is pre-filled for this area.
Other areas
Example deployments are illustrative. AKIZU is in development and does not replace a BVLOS authorisation.
In more detail
Brain is fitted to someone else's airframe. It does not fly it.
Bring the connector and how the image flows today. Verify needs a before-and-after measurement, not one good-looking flight.
A VERA licence is not an offer for this year.
