Approach
Slow down if freshness drops.
Logistics and medical transport
In drone transport the pilot sits in an operations centre and supervises several flights at once. When landing in a city they decide about metres, so they must know how old the image is.
Needs: Fleet from one centreControl from a centreTwo networks at once

Illustrative case study
This is not a customer and not a flight that happened. It is a description of how this area would read if the image carried its age.
A city, a roof and a yard, an illustration
The pilot is in a centre, the drone tens of kilometres away. The approach to the pad is where age decides about metres. A car in the street moves before an old frame arrives.
In the example Direct suggests slowing when freshness drops. The landing does not rest on a frozen image of the yard.
A second shipment flies the same day. Every flight has its own panel. The pack is attached to the shipment, not to the day.
Slow down if freshness drops.
Valid only.
The record goes with the shipment.
AKIZU does not carry samples. It supplies image age to the operator that does.
The chart requires JavaScript.
The chart is a simulation. Move the slowdown and see when the example stops being under the 50 ms target. The target is not a measured result.
Deployment schematic
The schematic is not to scale and is not a design for a specific site. It shows where the drone is, which two networks carry the frame and where the decision is made.
Red and blue beacons: police, state, the military in training. Orange: everyone else. The blink is only on screen. Schematic, design. The list beside it explains the codes in the drawing. The beacon is a payload from another maker, not an AKIZU product.
Concrete case
The same illustrative case as above, written out in time. The times are an example. It is not a record of a flight that happened.
An illustration, not a deployment record. N
Use options
Each row is a separate use. The Parts column says which AKIZU parts it would involve. Status N is a design, C is a target, U is unknown.
| Use | Who uses it | What AKIZU supplies | Parts | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Samples between hospital and lab | Carriage operator | Age on approach and landing | Brain, SIM, Direct | N |
| Medicine to a remote site | Health service | Two networks on a route outside the city | Brain, SIM | N |
| Spare parts on a site | Maintenance | A pad with a valid image | Brain, Direct | N |
| Several flights a day | Carriage dispatch | Each flight its own panel and pack | Platform | N |
| Delivery to a house | — | Not a target of this site | — | U |
None of these uses is deployed today. A row is not an offer and not an authorisation to fly.
01
The image travels over the mobile network and the internet. Delay changes and the pilot cannot see it.
Signal and cells change between buildings. Landing is exactly where one network is weakest.
After a delay or an aborted flight you need to show what the image was and which commands the pilot gave.
The pilot must not get the age from a flight other than the one they control.
The same situation, different information on the screen. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.
| Situation | Without AKIZU | With AKIZU |
|---|---|---|
| The image is late | The image looks live; the pilot does not know how old it is. | Frame age is on the screen and the state changes to Reduced freshness. N |
| Several drones, one team | The operator does not know which image is current. | Every drone has its own age and state. An old image is not treated as confirmation. N |
| The pilot is in a centre far from the drone | Latency changes and the pilot cannot see it. | The deadline guard warns when a command arrives late. N |
| One network fails | The image freezes or breaks up. | The frame arrives over the second network; the switch is logged. N |
02
The flow is illustrative. AKIZU is in development.
03
How many metres further the drone is than the image shows. Pick a scenario or set the speed and image age.
The interactive calculation requires JavaScript.
Scenario speeds are examples. 87.4 ms is the p99 measured internally over WiFi with a phone as transmitter, not on a drone.
04
| Requirement | How AKIZU answers it | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Pilot far from the drone | Image age on the centre screen and the deadline guard | N |
| Urban landing | Two networks on approach, first valid copy | N |
| Supervising several flights | Fleet, states and alerts in Platform | N |
| Record for the customer | Evidence pack attached to the flight | N |
05
Sees image age on every approach and gets a warning in time.
Has an overview of all flights and their state.
Gets the flight record for a claim or audit.

In Belgium, since August 2025, drones have carried samples between two hospital sites, with flights operated from the United Kingdom.

LTE and 5G. The Brain Duo concept sends every frame through two operators at once. The 3GPP standard expects the network to recognise a drone in the air, so we plan AKIZU SIM cards with an aerial profile at the operator.
No. BVLOS flights need an authorisation in the Specific category based on a SORA 2.5 risk assessment. AKIZU Platform is meant to give the operator an image-age record as evidence for that assessment.
The station does not show an old frame as current. When the age exceeds the deadline it switches to a neutral screen and shows the reason. We measured the switch internally within 2.72 ms.

The three image states in this area. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.
The pilot in the centre can continue the approach.
Direct suggests slowing before the pad.
The landing does not rest on a frozen image of the city.

Illustrative layout. Drone and station counts are an example, not an offer.
Route between buildings
The pilot is tens of kilometres away.
The same centre
One team supervises several drones. Each has its own age.
Roof or yard
This is where age decides about metres.

Times are an example. They show when image age decides.

AKIZU does not carry samples. It supplies image age to the operator that does.
Airspace rules are for the state. We supply numbers about the image.
The record helps with a claim. It is not an insurance contract.
A pilot in this area
We are looking for first partners. The application is pre-filled for this area.
Other areas
Example deployments are illustrative. AKIZU is in development and does not replace a BVLOS authorisation.
In more detail
Age decides on the approach. We do not carry the load.
Bring the pad and how far the pilot is from it. A car in the street moves before an old frame arrives.
A landing should not rest on a frozen yard. Slowing when freshness drops is a design, not a measured autopilot.
