Drone manufacturers

A ready video chain for your drone.

You have your own airframe and flight software. Developing image with proven age would take years. Brain brings it in one enclosure.

Illustrative case study

One aircraft, then the customer's fleet

This is not a customer and not a flight that happened. It is a description of how this area would read if the image carried its age.

An integration hall, an illustration

The maker has its own airframe. An image chain with age would take years to build. In the example they fit Brain, four screws, one connector.

Verify measures age before and after. The number goes into the file as a target until a further measurement confirms it. It is not a type certificate.

The maker's customer has several aircraft. The same chain is repeated. VERA licensing is planned for 2028. That is not a commitment for this year.

Measurement

Verify shows how old the image is today.

After the fit

A before-and-after report, not a promise on a datasheet.

The next aircraft

A repeat measurement, not one good-looking flight.

Brain does not fly the aircraft. It adds the image chain.

Image age through the example

The chart requires JavaScript.

The chart is a simulation. Move the slowdown and see when the example stops being under the 50 ms target. The target is not a measured result.

Deployment schematic

Where everything stands and how the image travels

The schematic is not to scale and is not a design for a specific site. It shows where the drone is, which two networks carry the frame and where the decision is made.

Numbers in the schematic

  1. 1The maker's airframe on the bench. Brain fits with four screws.
  2. 2Verify V measures age before and after the fit.
  3. 3Brain Duo carries the frame over two networks.
  4. 4Platform stores the before-and-after report.
  5. 5Direct shows the maker the same state as the customer.
  6. 6The report enters the file as a target until a measurement confirms it.

Symbols in the schematic

  • BStation or launch point
  • DDrone with AKIZU Brain
  • S1 · S2Two mobile networks at once
  • PAKIZU Platform: fleet and pack
  • OAKIZU Direct: operator and image state

Red and blue beacons: police, state, the military in training. Orange: everyone else. The blink is only on screen. Schematic, design. The list beside it explains the codes in the drawing. The beacon is a payload from another maker, not an AKIZU product.

Concrete case

Minute by minute

The same illustrative case as above, written out in time. The times are an example. It is not a record of a flight that happened.

  1. Deň 1Verify measures the maker's image today.
  2. Deň 2Brain is fitted. One connector, power from the airframe.
  3. Deň 3First flight. Age is logged for every frame.
  4. Deň 4Second and third flight on another day. A repeat, not one good-looking flight.
  5. Deň 5A before-and-after comparison in the report.
  6. Deň 10A second aircraft with the same chain.

Use options

Everything it can be used for in this area

Each row is a separate use. The Parts column says which AKIZU parts it would involve. Status N is a design, C is a target, U is unknown.

01

The problem today

01

Video is the weak spot

Camera, encoding and network are three different worlds. Nobody measures total image age from light to light.

02

Customers ask for numbers

Without measuring image age it is hard to say how delayed the image is beyond line of sight.

03

In-house development is costly

A protocol that carries the exposure time and deadline of every frame is a development project of its own.

04

The customer has a fleet, not one aircraft

A number from one measurement is not enough if integration differs between drones.

Without AKIZU and with AKIZU

The same situation, different information on the screen. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.

02

How it would work

  1. Measure todayVerify measures image age in your current system.
  2. IntegrationBrain mounts with one connector and four screws.
  3. Measure afterThe same measurement with Brain and VERA.
  4. DocumentationThe result goes into the drone technical documentation.
  5. Repeat measurementVerify on the next aircraft shows whether image age holds.

The flow is illustrative. AKIZU is in development.

03

Mission scenario

How many metres further the drone is than the image shows. Pick a scenario or set the speed and image age.

The interactive calculation requires JavaScript.

Scenario speeds are examples. 87.4 ms is the p99 measured internally over WiFi with a phone as transmitter, not on a drone.

Licences later

Licensing of the VERA protocol to manufacturers is planned for 2028.

Questions about this area

FAQ →

How can image age be measured independently?

Optically: an instrument records a light signal in front of the drone camera and the same signal on the operator display. The difference is the real image age. We plan this measurement for Q4 2026.

Is VERA an open standard?

No. VERA is AKIZU’s own protocol. We share the detailed protocol plan with partners on request.

Can I have the image age on my drone measured?

We plan to offer AKIZU Verify measurement once optical measurement is validated. If you are interested, write to us and we will put you on the early list.

09

What the operator sees

The three image states in this area. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.

Valid

After integration the maker has a number for the datasheet as a target, not as a finished result, until Verify confirms it.

Reduced freshness

The maker's customer sees that the image is still coming, but the deadline is close.

Unavailable

The customer's cockpit does not show a frozen image as live.

What we do not do in this area

Not your autopilot

Brain does not fly the aircraft. It adds the video chain.

Not a finished certification

A measurement is not a type certificate.

ModalAI VOXL 2

The flight computer in the Brain design. Stated by the maker, not our flight result.

A pilot in this area

A ready video chain for your drone.

We are looking for first partners. The application is pre-filled for this area.

In more detail

Before a meeting with a maker

Brain is fitted to someone else's airframe. It does not fly it.

Bring the connector and how the image flows today. Verify needs a before-and-after measurement, not one good-looking flight.

A VERA licence is not an offer for this year.

Bring to the meeting

  • Connector and power.
  • Where video goes today.
  • How many aircraft should carry the same chain.

This is not

  • A type certificate.
  • Flight control.
  • A licence commitment in 2026.
