Alarm
Dispatch launches the drone. There is no age until the first valid frame.
Public safety
A first-responder drone reaches the scene before the patrol. Dispatch decisions rest on the image, and it can be older than it looks.
Needs: Two networks at onceEvidence after the flightControl from a centre

Illustrative case study
This is not a customer and not a flight that happened. It is a description of how this area would read if the image carried its age.
A city, a station roof, an illustration
The dispatcher gets an alarm at 02:14. The patrol is twelve minutes away. A drone from the roof can be at the incident sooner, but only if the image the dispatcher sees says how old it is.
Today a video looks live even when it has frozen. In the example Brain sends the frame over two operators. Direct shows the age. When age passes the target, the screen does not keep the last frame of the street. It shows a neutral screen with the reason.
The spare at the station stays on the ground while the first drone flies. The record says which one was airborne. After the response the pack goes with the incident, not into a shared folder without time.
Dispatch launches the drone. There is no age until the first valid frame.
The decision rests only on Valid.
The frame goes via the other. The switch is logged.
AKIZU does not send the patrol and does not decide on the response. It shows whether the image is valid.
The chart requires JavaScript.
The chart is a simulation. Move the slowdown and see when the example stops being under the 50 ms target. The target is not a measured result.
Deployment schematic
The schematic is not to scale and is not a design for a specific site. It shows where the drone is, which two networks carry the frame and where the decision is made.
Red and blue beacons: police, state, the military in training. Orange: everyone else. The blink is only on screen. Schematic, design. The list beside it explains the codes in the drawing. The beacon is a payload from another maker, not an AKIZU product.
Concrete case
The same illustrative case as above, written out in time. The times are an example. It is not a record of a flight that happened.
An illustration, not a deployment record. N
Use options
Each row is a separate use. The Parts column says which AKIZU parts it would involve. Status N is a design, C is a target, U is unknown.
| Use | Who uses it | What AKIZU supplies | Parts | Status |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| First look before the patrol | Municipal police dispatch | Image age and the Valid state during arrival | Drone, Brain, SIM, Direct | N |
| A crash on the ring road | Dispatch and fire service | An image of the scene with age until a patrol arrives | Brain, SIM, Direct | N |
| Looking for a person in the city | Patrol and dispatch | Streets marked seen only in Valid | Brain, SIM, Platform, Direct | N |
| Response debrief | Shift commander | A pack: what dispatch saw and when | Platform | N |
| Several stations in a city | Municipal police | One panel for all aircraft, each with its own age | Platform, Direct | C |
None of these uses is deployed today. A row is not an offer and not an authorisation to fly.
01
A frozen or delayed frame looks just like a live one. The dispatcher has no way to tell.
At a larger incident, many phones share one cell. One network is not enough.
Later it is hard to prove what the dispatcher saw at a given moment and how old that image was.
When two drones fly, the dispatcher needs the age of each, not one shared impression.
The same situation, different information on the screen. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.
| Situation | Without AKIZU | With AKIZU |
|---|---|---|
| The image is late | The image looks live; the pilot does not know how old it is. | Frame age is on the screen and the state changes to Reduced freshness. N |
| One network fails | The image freezes or breaks up. | The frame arrives over the second network; the switch is logged. N |
| You need to explain what happened | Video without exposure time and without commands. | Evidence package with image age, states and commands. N |
| The pilot is in a centre far from the drone | Latency changes and the pilot cannot see it. | The deadline guard warns when a command arrives late. N |
02
The flow is illustrative. AKIZU is in development.
03
How many metres further the drone is than the image shows. Pick a scenario or set the speed and image age.
The interactive calculation requires JavaScript.
Scenario speeds are examples. 87.4 ms is the p99 measured internally over WiFi with a phone as transmitter, not on a drone.
04
| Requirement | How AKIZU answers it | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Dispatcher sees whether the image is current | Age of every frame and three image states in Direct | N |
| Image on a congested city network | Brain Duo sends every frame over two operators | N |
| Record for investigation | Evidence pack with image age and commands | N |
| Image age below 50 ms p99 on the drone | LET-1 target, verification in Q1 2027 | C |
05
Sees image age and state on one screen and knows when not to trust the image.
Gets a warning with reduced freshness and a clear neutral screen in an outage.
Has a record after every response for review and the authority.

The 3GPP standard allows 140 ms for video when controlling beyond line of sight. The AKIZU LET-1 target is 50 ms.
Source: 3GPP TS 22.125
The station does not show an old frame as current. When the age exceeds the deadline it switches to a neutral screen and shows the reason. We measured the switch internally within 2.72 ms.
LTE and 5G. The Brain Duo concept sends every frame through two operators at once. The 3GPP standard expects the network to recognise a drone in the air, so we plan AKIZU SIM cards with an aerial profile at the operator.
No. BVLOS flights need an authorisation in the Specific category based on a SORA 2.5 risk assessment. AKIZU Platform is meant to give the operator an image-age record as evidence for that assessment.
09
The three image states in this area. Proposed behaviour, to be verified in a pilot.
The dispatcher sees the frame age and can rely on the image.
The image is still coming, but the deadline is close. The dispatcher knows to be careful.
A neutral screen with the reason. The last frame of the incident does not stay on screen.

Illustrative layout. Drone and station counts are an example, not an offer.
Station roof
It is at the incident before the patrol. Its image must have an age.
The same station
While the first flies, the second is ready. The record shows which one is airborne.
Centre
One view of the state, not of a video without time.
11
Times are an example. They show when image age decides.
12
AKIZU does not send people to the scene and does not decide on the response.
We do not supply a city CCTV system. We supply image age from the drone.
A first-response drone programme is authorised by the authority and the service, not by the supplier.
A pilot in this area
We are looking for first partners. The application is pre-filled for this area.
Other areas
Example deployments are illustrative. AKIZU is in development and does not replace a BVLOS authorisation.
In more detail
The patrol stays. We deal with whether the image the dispatcher sees is valid.
Bring the time a patrol takes today, and the place a drone would launch from. Without that we cannot say whether age decides at all.
We do not decide on a response. We can say what the neutral screen would look like when the image misses the target.
